MX lookup

Enter a domain to see which servers receive its mail, in which order senders try them and whether each one can be reached.

Only public DNS records are read; nothing is stored.

What MX records do

MX records name the servers that accept mail for a domain. Senders try the lowest priority number first and fall back to the others when it does not answer.

Each MX record must point to a host name with an address, never to an IP address or a CNAME. A domain that should receive no mail at all can say so with a null MX record.
